We've moved all of the previous documentation now to the member only group - Commercial Members. If you'ved joined the PDN group then please do take a look around and read about some of the great benefits of becoming a Commercial Member. Membership is still free and this will then give you access to:

Promethean Unveils New ActivTable

The new ActivTable was launched at BETT 2012 last week, but if you didn't see it in person, you can view a demonstration of it on the Promethean YouTube channel.

The ActivTable is all about engagement, interactivity, participation and creativity, allowing up to six students at one time to collaborate around the 46” HD LCD display – one of the largest screens on any interactive table.

Discounted Equipment Purchase Scheme Now Live

We've just revamped and launched the new pages on the PDN for the discounted equipment purchase scheme, exclusive to Commercial members of the PDN.

About the Scheme - Some Q & As

What is the scheme?

The discounted equipment purchase scheme enables PDN Commercial Members to purchase equipment at a preferential, discounted rate.

Who is eligible for the scheme?

PDN Commercial members are eligibile to apply, though, at the minute, it's only open to US based publishers and developers. If you're a Commercial member located outside of the US and interested in a similar scheme, please email publishers@prometheanworld.com for further details.

What's the discount?

The discount is usually, and no more, than 40% off the educational list price of that specific product.

What products are included?

The scheme includes standard products such as the ActivBoard 300 and 500 range, Learner Response Systems such as ActivExpression and ActiVote, as well as interactive tools such as an ActivSlate. Upon receiving your application you will be sent a Sales Order form which includes a list of eligible products and prices.

How do I apply?

Please visit the Equipment Order page within the PDN and complete the relevant online form.

First Arabic publisher to launch commercial content

Hachette Antoine are one of the biggest publishers in the Middle East, based in Beirut (Lebanon) and serving both French and Arabic markets. The Planet team has been working with Hachette Antoine for quite a period of time to help them realise their digital IWB ambitions and create their very first series of digital content, specifically for the whiteboard.

The first series was designed to support the launch of a new book to teach Arabic as a second language and is called Ya Hala. There are eight flipcharts in the series and they all support the book activities.

Some key points of the new content:

* A flipchart template was professionally designed by an external agency for this project.
* Each flipchart includes - for the first time - Arabic ActivExpression question sets.
* Hachette Antoine were granted a licence to distribute ActivInspire Personal Edition on CD with the flipcharts.
* The flipcharts were awarded the highest standard of Promethean content accreditation - 'Powered' status.

We've been busy behind the scenes in making the PDN pages more 'user-friendly', gearing up for the New Year and some PDN announcements that are on the horizon.

ActivSDK 2.2 is released!

Promethean is pleased to announce the availability of ActivSDK v2.2, the newest version of the ActivClassroom Software Developer Kit.

The SDK supports development of applications that integrate directly with ActivExpression, ActiVote, dual ActivPen input systems and ActivEngage. It is perfect for any organization or person who wishes to develop software applications that use Promethean's LRS devices or ActivBoards.

Version 2.2 includes all of the functionality of SDK v2.1 and enhances it as follows :

Change in management of connections between Adobe Flash Bridge and Adobe Flash players to prevent degradation of performance over time
Addition of support for Adobe Flash player debugger as a host for Flash content
Various minor bug fixes stabilizing the release

Version 2.2 is available for both Windows & Mac OS and includes support for all devices and all features on both platforms.
