Unable to update ActivHub

  • Hey,

Currently my ActivHub firmware is 5.08 Build 4. The ActivExpressions work great, but when I try to embed a self-paced assessment, the activexpressions are unresponsive. After reading, it seems I might need to upgrade my ActivHub firmware.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but the newest version is Version 5, build 12?

When I use the control panel to try to click "upgrade" on the activhub, the button is grayed out and unclickable. My only option is "reset hub".

Is there a website where I can go to manually download the firmware upgrade? I am on a mac laptop.

    Thanks,

    Ted

  • You are correct, you do need to upgrade the hub in order to get the Self Paced feature.

The reason it is greyed out could because you don't have the correct administration rights on that machine.

You can upgrade the hub on any machine that has the driver installed and has admin rights, the driver is free to download and you can do so from here.

Also once you perform this upgrade you will need to register you devices back.

    Regards,

    Paul.

  • Is this the driver for the activboard, or activhub? I installed the file (with admin help), but this did not change the firmware version of the hub. Looking at the version, it is still 5.08 build 4.

  • The driver is for both. You then need to connect the hub, highlight it an click upgrade.

The important thing is that the Upgrade button is not greyed out.

My suggestion is either for someone who has admin rights logs onto the machine and upgrade the hub. Or you take the hub to a machine that you know you have admin rights on, install the driver and then upgrade the hub.

    regards,

    Paul.

  • Update:

The firmware upgrade was installed and the drivers too by an admin. When I try to set up a multi-question flipchart page, the expressions are still unresponsive. They still work for single questions, but not for Self-Paced tests.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Ted
