Re: What is the best way to take advantage of PDF documents with ActivInspire?

What is the best way to take advantage of PDF documents with ActivInspire?

Answered (Verified) This question is answered

This is a frequently asked question of Planet members:

"What is the best way to take advantage of PDF documents with ActivInspire?"  or "I have several pdf documents I want to use with my Activboard.  What is the best way to be able to annotate over them."

Verified Answer
  • While some folks might use the Desktop tools to annotate directly on a pdf, it is really advantageous to import the pdf directly into ActivInspire (and it's quick too!)

    Here's how to do it:

    1) Go to the File menu and choose Import>PDF.

    2) Navigate to and select the pdf that you want to import. Click open.

    3) Choose the page size, which pages you want to import and where you want to import it to.  If it is an existing flipchart, you should select "The End of the Current Flipchart."

    4) Your page(s) are now imported!  Easy, huh? Big Smile  Now some tips for using them.

    • Tall or Portrait PDFs.  You will find that most pdfs are formatted "tall" and are hard to see at one time on the Activboard or flipchart page as they are "wide."  If you go to the page scale options in the top right, you can select Fit to Width and then be able to scroll up and down the page to annotate on it.
    • You can now use any tool like the pen or highlighter tool to annotate on the pdf on your flipchart page.
    • Right click on the image on the page and select Lock so that the image won't move around with the selector tool!
