There is a new feature in ActivInspire 1.6.46087 where you can embed HTML code into a place holder on a flipchart page. Insert/Link/Embedded HTML
I would love to hear how you plan to use this feature.

Me too! I have tried copying a youtube clip into the flipchart by going -
Insert > File > Embedded HTML > Copy the URL into the box and then click OK.
On my screen I now have something that looks like it will play a video with the little camera down the bottom but nothing in the screen....
This looks like a great feature!

I'm not seeing this. What version of the software do you have? Are you on a Mac or a PC?
I am on a PC running version 1.6.46087.
Since upgrading on Monday - I have a few issues predominately with the sound and screen recorder so I think this may be part of why its not playing on the flp.
I am waiting for Planet support but its rather urgent so if you know what I can do - please help!
I was able to embed a youtube code and have it play (!) Still wrapping my head around what this all means. (I have a feeling it can be big!)
Yes ! I agree! Its huge... if only I can get it to work.
Essentially it will mean that the copyright issues that surround us can be somewhat eliminated and therefore making teaching with these video resources so much more powerful!
How would this eliminate copyright issues?
Its my interpretation that by embedding the URL we aren't actually copying it - we just inserting it and using it live??
Maybe I don't understand it fully?
That is the case of the YouTube video that I've tested so far!
.The software now has the ability to embed HTML web parts that will allow content to be streamed from the web through the board in a manner that will help reduce the copyright compliance as you are no longer taking intellectual property off a site and storing it locally.
In addition to this you also now can have live embedded feeds of the news, twitter etc for sessions. The ability to refresh the embed placeholder allows for seamless discussions based on current as you see it news.
Interesting. How do you get html code for a twitter feed with a specific twitter hashtag? Let's say we are having a discussion in class (and they have twitter on their devices) and I ask them to tweet in their opinions about it with the hashtag #topic214 in it? Is there code for that?
I replied to this once but it disappeared!
do a search for web widget or web gadget will bring up lots of things to try. One website I've used is widgetbox.com
this allows you to create widgets for twitter feeds and also has a gallery full of other widgets that other people have made.
Ooh, Thanks, Louise, this might be a game changer!
OK, been playing around this morning.
Below is a flipchart with four pages, each with a different embedded html code. So far, I've embedded:
Does anyone know of a random name generator? That would be very cool, no?
