Hi there - I've hooked up our VCR (NOT dvd ) to our board and have good picture. However, I have no sound at all , even with the red and white cables plugged in. any ideas as to what I can do?

I think there are new LRS courses that show this in version 1.6. I've gone through the Activexpression one and it is very helpful. Not sure there is printed materials. You may also find this in the Activtips video and accompanying flipcharts.

Lisa your right. Personal is available to everyone (barring regional restrictions) but cant be used on third party products.

Selected Promethean hardware and software users are entitled to upgrade to Professional without charge allowing use on third party products.

You can view the US Personal licence here

Licensing restrictions may change in future versions / releases.

It depends on the model, but if you have one that uses RF with a little USB hub/antenna, you can connect to it via that plugged into your computer. I use mine at home often!

I tried closing everything, then opening, same result. When I went in design mode I saw some red boxes. When I tried to click on them the screen turned kind of transparent and I got the message that Active Inspire is closing down. I would really like to be able to retrieve this flipchart as the teacher spent several hours on it.

I was getting the same error, although PowerPoint appeared to be closed. I pressed Alt+Ctrl+Delete, looked at the task manager, and saw that powerpoint was still open. I forced that instance to close, and I was able to import just fine.

Not that I know of. That would be nice though. You could manually do it through the object viewer.

Forum Post: Video 'control' not showing in latest update?

If I drag a 'flv' video on to a flipchart page it auto plays by default, as expected, but there is no 'control' bar at the base of the video clip when I hover over the bottom edge, even though 'Hide Control' is set to false. It does however show if I change the video to 'not to autoplay'... as soon as I change the video properties back to 'autoplay' the control bar no longer shows... hope you can help...

i have upgraded too and i can still use the page browser next to recourses button in the tool bar if its not there use file/settings/commands and search for page browser and add it, hope this is helps

I am hoping that someone may help me to solve an issue relating to the differences between Active Inspire Primary and ActivPrimary. When accessing some recourses (i.e. shared collection/mathmatics/dfes interactive teaching Programs) i receive blank thumbnails where as in the old ActivPrimary they displayed an image of the .swf or .doc content making it quick and easy to identify for off the cuff activities before adding them to a page. all advice will be appreciated thank you

You just select personal edition when you start Inspire after installation, simple as that.

On a MacBook Pro tracpad you can set it to right click in preferences.

If you are running ActivInspire already you don't need to install from Disk 1. You could however use that disk to install the software at home so you can prep lessons there.

Disk 2 has the "Subjects" folder resource pack. Find the folder on Disk 2 for the language/region you want.

I always suggest that you install resource packs from Planet to "My Resources" partly because installing software or the basic resource packs to "Shared Resources" won't mess up what you have created.
