Is there a user manual for the expressions? I have 2 that are broken and I need to register some of my extras. I forgot how and am not sure if I can just register a few to add on to the ones I already have. I have numbers on them so I can ID the students using them.

Someone needs to update the installer on the download page. I am our district's IT person. The file that downloads from within ActivInspire will not do a network install to update the computers in our district. I'm stuck with 43277. My users don't have permission to install their own software and unless I want to remove the network deployment and visit every computer and reinstall this package I can't give them this update.

Forum Post: Importing to ActivInspire from PowerPoint

I am having trouble importing quality slides from PowerPoint to ActivInspire.

When I import as objects, the objects are out of format.

When I import as images, the images are fuzzy and difficult for my students to read.

Is there a better way to import quality PowerPoint slides into ActivInspire?

adobe ".... cannot read this file... error" Adobe should not be the application used to open the file. Below is the link to update your software, you want to ensure that you save the file to your downloads folder and then run it by double clicking on the file while it is in your downloads folder. Do you get the message "ActivInspire has to quit" every time that you open the software or only when you try to edit the database? Are you on a Windows or Mac? What version of ActivInspire are you running? (case# 148137)

Hi Ana,

Thanks for the prompt response. I'm aware of the "Auto Off" function on the clickers. This was not the problem during the quiz. The clickers were shutting off about three times each during the quiz, which took under five minutes. I'll try again and see if it improves. Let me know if you have any more suggestions.

Don,

You want to ensure that when you are following the steps above that you have "permissions" or are signed in as an administrator on the computer, so that you have access to all the locations that we are . Are you on a Windows computer as well? Have you cleared the temp folder and restarted the computer? (case# 148132)

Is this your personal computer or school computer? If it is a school computer then it may be you not have "permission" to install any drivers on the computer and you will need to contact your IT person for assistance.

If it is your personal computer are you saving the file and then running it? Do you get any error messages?

try changing which program .flipchart files open with by default, this may be set to firefox for some reason

On windows right click the file and choose open with & choose inspire and set it as the default program. If you are on mac I'm hoping that someone else will jump in and give you the steps as I can't remember!

Glad it helped. ActivInspire is quite different from Activstudio. It may take some getting used to but like everything, take time and it will grow on you. The browsers (page notes, resources, property, item) are the biggest and best change (to me!)

Try watching the Activtips videos (located under professional development) to see some of the coolest features of ActivInspire.) I'd start by scrolling to the bottom of the list of videos and watching from bottom up as the original Activtips were more focused on changes from Activstudio to ActivInspire and watching from newest first might be confusing or overwhelming.

There are also some free online courses with tutorials.

Hi,

In shared backgrounds and then axes there are fixed graphs as well but I was impressed by the wizard for drawing axes on easiteach. It was really easy to use and was very flexible.

If you are on a Windows computer, you can adjust the hardware accelerator in your display settings. To do this select Control Panel/ Display/ Settings/ Advanced/ change hardware accelerator to either 50% or 0%. (case# 147646)

You should be able to edit the Excel spreadsheet once the data has been exported. These "How To" questions are better answered on the Product forums, many of the Teaching and Learning Consultants and software developers monitor that forum. I do not know if this is a fix, but I have heard from some of our TLCs that the reason some of the gadgets appear not to work has to do with updating flash. Try updating flash on all your Internet browsers and see if this helps.
