Thank you for visiting the Flipped group. This group has been set up to share two initiatives in the Stillwater, Minnesota, elementary schools: "Flipped Math Classroom" pilot project and "Flipped Professional Development". These projects were initially inspired by a post in the Planet forums: Flipping in the Classroom, Has Anyone Tried It?
I'll be using this group to keep a daily diary of the progress of both initiatives. In order to comment on any of the entries, you'll first need to join the group using the link on the right of the header.
You'll also find links to all of the resources used in the projects, which you can download to use in your own classrooms. These resources will be added as and when they're created.
Flipped Math ClassroomSix pilot teachers from five different schools "flip" their math classes for a five-month time period beginning in September, 2011. At the end of this pilot period, performance results will be compared with control groups. Read the Day 1 Blog entry to find out what "flipped" means.
Flipped Professional DevelopmentElementary schools from the Stillwater school district set up plans for professional development with technology integration using principles of the Flipped Classroom model.
